Books

Summer – what are you reading?

Summer is the grandest season. All my work is completed, I just finished the last course for my Leadership Certificate, so I can now, without guilt, tackle that big pile of books on my desk.

I am just about to dive into the recruiting chapter in Building Powerful Community Organizations, by Michael Brown, in the hope it will give me some new ideas to get parents out to our parent committee meeting at the 524 Sturgeon Cadet Squadron.  (Maybe it will have some ideas for getting people out to FSMSA meetings as well.) I was just given Still Alice, by Lisa Genova. It’s a novel about a woman’s descent into the Alzheimer’s. Might be a bit too close to home right now, but I am going to give it a try. I also have a couple of good old murder mysteries to catch up on. All in all a good crop to choose from.

So what are you reading?

Building Faces

I just received a copy, of the cover, of my new book Building Faces. Like my other book from Reed Publishing the cover art work is magnificent.

The book should be available soon, I can’t wait to see it! With Reed I typically don’t see any of the formating or art work until it is all done. So it is a big surprise, and so far a very pleasant one.

Write It…or Rethink It?

Now that summer is officially over, you may be thinking about getting down to writing again. Here is a quick video on how to decide if your book idea is a good one. It is for children’s books, but the principals are the same for adult books as well. Enjoy.    - Write It…or Rethink It?.
